The Entrepreneur Program is for immigrants who will own and actively manage businesses in Canada, thus contributing to the economy and the creation of jobs. Two years business experience directly before application and minimum net wealth of CAD$300,000 must be evidenced. Evidence must also be provided that the applicant is able to:

  • control and manage a percentage of equity in a qualifying business equal to or greater than 33%
  • develop and maintain the management of a qualifying business
  • create at least one full time position within that qualifying business for one or more Canadian Citizens (not including family members)

The above must also be achieved over the first three years of permanent residency in Canada, and must be evidenced for at least one year.

The Entrepreneurs Program is also a partially points-tested visa, in the same way as the Investors Program.
